Create a Cozy Autumn Fox Card with CutCardStock

Hello, crafty friends! Autumn is the perfect season for creating cozy cards filled with warm colors and adorable woodland critters. I'm Carrianne, and I'm excited to be sharing this sweet autumn fox card with you today for the CutCardStock blog. By combining beautiful CutCardStock papers with simple Distress Ink blending and layered die cuts, you can create a charming fall card that's full of warmth and dimension.

Step 1: Create the Autumn Stenciled Background

Begin with a panel of Classic Crest Solar White cardstock. The smooth surface makes it a wonderful choice for ink blending because the colors blend beautifully while keeping the stenciled details crisp.

Place the Pretty Pink Posh Fall Words Stencil over the panel and blend Scattered Straw, Spiced Marmalade, and Rusty Hinge Distress Inks through the stencil. I used a combination of these warm autumn shades to create a soft, layered background filled with seasonal words and texture. 

Photo 2: After completing the stenciling, remove the stencil to reveal the colorful fall background. The mix of golden yellow, orange, and rusty tones creates the perfect backdrop for the fox.

Next, add more depth by lightly blending Scattered Straw around the edges of the panel. This soft shading frames the background and helps bring attention to the center of the design.

Step 2: Die Cut and Ink the Fox

Die cut all of the fox pieces using the CutCardStock papers.

Cut the body from Lessebo Flame Orange cardstock and add shading with Rusty Hinge Distress Ink to give the fox extra depth and dimension.

Cut the face pieces from DCS Natural Twine Kraft and softly ink the edges with Tea Dye. The warm shading adds definition while keeping the fox's expression soft and sweet.

For the ear inserts, use DCS Pink Tutu cardstock and blend a touch of Saltwater Taffy around the edges for a subtle pop of color.

Die cut the facial features from Classic Crest Epic Black cardstock, then assemble the fox using liquid adhesive.

Step 3: Add the Finishing Touches

To complete the autumn scene, die cut the pumpkin and leaf from the La-La Land Crafts October 2025 Kit of the Month.

Blend Fossilized Amber and Rusty Hinge onto both die cuts to add warmth and dimension that coordinates beautifully with the background.

Attach the fox to the card front using foam adhesive, then tuck the pumpkin into his arms. Finish the design by placing the leaf beside the fox to complete the cozy fall scene.

I love how the warm Distress Ink colors pair with the rich CutCardStock papers to create a cheerful autumn card. The softly stenciled background adds just the right amount of texture without taking attention away from the adorable fox, while the layered die cuts and inked edges bring the entire design to life.
