Nothing says happy mail quite like a pile of playful kittens! For this card, I had so much fun creating a layered sketch design featuring the adorable Smitten Kittens from Newton’s Nook Designs, paired with patterns from the Love & Meows Paper Pad.
I’m also playing along with Newton’s Nook Inky Paws Challenge #252, and the sketch made this design extra fun to build!
I started by following the sketch layout, which gave me a perfect guide for building a balanced, layered background. The patterned papers from the Love & Meows Paper Pad helped create a playful foundation full of texture and interest while still keeping the design clean and structured.
Next, I stamped and colored one of the sweet kittens from the Smitten Kittens set and popped it up with foam tape for added dimension. This little detail brings the focal image forward and gives the card a fun, dimensional feel.
To assemble everything, I used Tape Runner adhesive to securely layer all the patterned papers and elements together. It’s my go-to for keeping clean, crisp layers while building a multi-panel design.
The sentiment adds the perfect finishing touch of personality and charm.
This card was such a joy to create! I love how the sketch layout helps pull everything together while still leaving room for playful details and dimension. The combination of cute kittens, layered patterns, and a sweet sentiment makes this a perfect little piece of happy mail for any cat lover.
