Today I’m sharing a playful winter shaker card featuring the adorable Sunbird Spark – Most Wonderful Time. This card was inspired by those joyful winter days when the snow is fresh, the cold air feels exciting, and kids can’t wait to bundle up and head outside.
I imagined a little story as I built the scene: a girl happily gliding across a frozen patch of ice, twirling and laughing as her skates sweep across the surface. Up on the hill nearby, a boy on a sled is gearing up for his next big slide—cheeks rosy, scarf flying, and absolutely loving every second of winter fun. It’s that simple, carefree energy that shaped this whole card.
To bring the scene to life, I created a soft snowy landscape with a drift that stretches across the panel. The icy area for the skating girl became a sparkly shaker window, filled with shimmering pieces that move like tiny flurries each time the card is tilted. The sledding boy sits at the top of the hill, ready to zoom down, while a few trees help set the wintry mood. I blended some cool blue ink around the edges of the panel for a frosty feel and finished the card with a sentiment and a few snowflake embellishment.
This card was such a joy to make—full of movement, sparkle, and winter playfulness. I hope it brings a smile and inspires you to create your own snowy scenes!
