Soaring High for Craft Roulette #292 with Animal Balloons - Clearly Besotted

I’m so excited to be participating for the first time in Craft Roulette #292! This month’s challenge was to create an encouragement card using a color palette, include a house pet, and add some thread or twine. I had so much fun bringing these elements together.

Parameters:

Project: Encouragement
Color: Sophisticated
Element: House pet
Random: Twine or Thread

For my house pet element, I chose the adorable Clearly Besotted Animal Balloons bundle. I chose to use the cat and colored it in shades of orange, because I just love orange cats — and if I weren’t allergic, I’d have one of my own! I used the matching die to cut it out.

I created a soft, sophisticated blue sky background to give the cat the feeling of soaring. I added some metallic blue stars to give the sky a whimsical, playful feel.

For the random element, I used metallic gold twine as the balloon string, which also adds a bit of sparkle and texture. I trimmed the finished panel to 4 x 5 1/4, mounted it on a coordinating soft blue mat, and adhered it to a white card base for a clean, polished finish.

The sentiment I paired with it, “Let yourself go and see how far you can rise,” makes it a perfect encouragement card.

I love how this card turned out — it’s simple, uplifting, and has just the right amount of whimsy. It’s a sweet reminder that sometimes, all you need is a little encouragement to let yourself rise!

Thanks for reading! I hope something here sparks your creativity and brightens your day.

  3. OMG how totally sweet is this! The balloon kitty is the cutest and I love that he's a little ginger cat. I can see why you would love to have an orange kitty. I miss mine so dearly. He was quite a character and his presence is still so very missed! I am so sorry you are allergic.

  4. I'm not sure if you used a die cut or dry embossing on the card, which is adorable. Great execution for the Craft Roulette too. Let me know if you used a die cut by adding the die cut you used in your post. Thank you for posting your cards at Die Cut Divas.

    1. Thank you Arlene and yes I used a die which states it with the product bundle (stamp + die) but I added a line to the end of the paragraph.
