Good morning, crafty friends!
The holiday season is officially here, and today I’m so excited to share a cheerful Christmas card I created featuring the Colorado Craft Company's “Merry Shopping” stamp set. This set absolutely melts my heart — it’s filled with adorable animals loaded with holiday shopping bags, and as a huge dog lover, I couldn’t resist choosing the sweet pup carrying all his festive finds.
Now, between us… I’m not a big fan of holiday shopping! LOL I usually do most of it online to avoid the crowds and chaos — but this little dog doesn’t seem to mind one bit! He’s out there living his best life, arms (or paws!) full of shopping bags and holiday spirit. I guess that’s why I love this image so much — it perfectly captures the joy and excitement of the season, minus the stress!
I colored the image with Copic Markers, using warm shades of brown for the dog and a classic Christmas combo of red, green, and black for the shopping bags and accents. The contrast between the cozy brown tones and the bold holiday colors really brought this scene to life — it just feels merry and bright!
Once I finished coloring, I trimmed the panel down to 2.75" x 4.25" and added foam tape to give it some dimension. I mounted it on a bright red card base from Your Paper Insider, and I have to say — their cardstock is amazing! It’s smooth, sturdy, and the perfect festive red for holiday crafting.
To add a little sparkle, I included a strip of Altenew’s Glitter Gradient Cardstock – Milky Way in Black Diamond. The shimmer adds just the right touch of holiday magic without overpowering the design. I finished the card with a few black gems for that subtle, classy shine.
I really love how this card turned out — it’s festive, sparkly, and full of Christmas cheer! Between the adorable pup, the pops of color, and that touch of glitter, it’s a great reminder to find joy in the season (even if you prefer to shop from your couch like I do).
