Today I'm sharing a festive and elegant holiday card featuring the beautiful Poinsettias & Pinecones Bundle paired with the Holiday Background Builder Stencil—both from The Rabbit Hole Designs. I wanted this card to feel classic with a little extra shimmer, and this combo delivered!
I started with a panel of white cardstock and blended the entire background in a rich, festive green. To add texture and a soft distressed look, I spritzed water into my hands and gently flicked it onto the panel. This gives more control than a spray bottle and creates lovely, small droplets for that dreamy splattered effect.
Next, I heat embossed the stunning poinsettia image in gold embossing powder, placing it along the left edge of the panel for a bold yet elegant focal point. I continued the gold theme by heat embossing the sentiment in gold as well - it just pops beautifully against the green background!
To add a little extra magic, I reached for the Holiday Background Builder Stencil. Instead of ink blending, I used my Versamark dabber to apply sticky ink through parts of the stencil and then heat embossed gold stars around the sentiment.
Once all the embossing was complete, I trimmed the panel down to 4" x 5¼" and mounted it onto a piece of brushed metallic gold cardstock, which adds gorgeous shine and frames the card perfectly. The whole panel was then adhered to a coordinating green card base to tie everything together.
This card has just the right balance of festive color, shine, and elegance—perfect for the holidays or even as a winter wedding or New Year greeting!
