Colorful Options September Challenge - DT Card

Hello crafty friends! It’s time for a brand-new Colorful Options Challenge and this month, Anything Goes! That’s right, no theme restrictions, just pure creative freedom.

Want a little color inspiration? Try working with this month’s featured palette: blue, red, cream, and orange — a bold, fun mix that works beautifully for late summer or early fall. But as always, feel free to go rainbow or create with any colors you love.

We can't wait to see what you make — cards, journals, tags, or something totally unexpected! Link up your project and let your creativity shine.

My card this month features the adorable Sweater Sitter from C.C. Designs (retired). I colored her up using this month’s palette and had so much fun bringing her cozy look to life!

I began by stamping the image onto Neenah Solar White 80lb cardstock, my go-to for Copic coloring thanks to its smooth surface and blendability. I colored up the adorable Sweater Sitter using Copic Markers, keeping to this month’s featured palette of blue, red, cream, and orange. Once she was fully colored, I fussy cut the image to give her clean, crisp edges and get her ready to pop on the card.

For the background, I went digging into my stash and found some bright, colorful patterned paper that worked beautifully with the challenge colors. I trimmed it to fit and adhered it directly to a white card base.

To add some texture and visual interest, I grabbed a piece of thin white cardstock and die-cut it using the La-La Land Crafts Scalloped Rectangle Die. I layered that panel over the patterned base — the cardstock is light enough that you can still see the fun colorful stripes peeking through underneath, which adds a playful, semi-transparent effect to the design.

I used foam tape to pop up the image and give it some nice dimension. Finally, I stamped the sentiment to complete the look. I love how all the layers and colors came together — it's bright, cozy, and cheerful!

Be sure to visit the Colorful Options Blog for more inspiration from our amazing Design Team, and don’t forget to link up your own projects to join this month’s Anything Goes challenge. We can't wait to see what you create!

Until next time, keep creating and stay crafty!
