Altenew September 2025 Release

With the September 2025 Release, Altenew has delivered another round of beautifully designed products — and I had the best time crafting with them.

I pulled out a few favorites and mixed shimmer, texture, and color to create a cozy card I’m excited to share with you today. Keep reading for the step-by-step details!

I started my card by positioning the Checkerboard Tiles Background Stencil over a white cardstock panel and secured it in place using my Stampwheel.

On my work surface, I mixed embossing paste with a bit of Pearl Shimmer Paste to create a sparkly texture paste. Using a Mixed Media Palette Knife Set, I spread the mixture over the stencil, carefully removed the stencil, and set the panel aside to dry completely. The result is a clean, modern background with a subtle shimmer that catches the light beautifully.

While the background dried, I moved on to the focal elements:

I stamped two leaves from the Autumn Whispers Bundle, then cut them out using the coordinating dies. To add more interest, I die cut the same leaves from Brushed Silver Cardstock and layered them slightly offset behind the stamped leaves — giving a touch of shine and depth.

For an extra pop of color, I created a bold leaf using Yupo paper and red alcohol ink. Once dry, I die cut it using the Crispy Leaves Layering Die Set, and it became the perfect eye-catching element. Once all the elements were in place, I adhered them to the stenciled background panel and then attached the finished panel to a white card base to complete the card.

For the sentiment, I used one of the versatile greetings from the One Go: Sentiment Strips 3 Press Plates/Foil Plates (Gratitude Edition), stamped in black ink and trimmed it with a paper trimmer. I backed it with a strip of Silver Glitter Cardstock from the Milky Way Glitter Gradient Cardstock for just a hint of sparkle, then adhered both to the card front.
