Hi friends! I’m thrilled to be sharing a card I created for the January Caroling Christmas Cards Hop on Instagram! This fun hop is all about making holiday cards year-round, each inspired by a different Christmas song. This month, we had the choice between Blue Christmas and Carol of the Bells—can you guess which one I picked? Keep reading to find out!
I was inspired by Blue Christmas, especially the lyric ‘and when those blue snowflakes are falling’, capturing the feeling of missing someone during the holidays.
I blended blue ink through a snowflake stencil to create a soft, wintry background, then cut a hill to form a mound of snow. A polar bear waving hello was added to the scene for a playful touch. I adhered this to a panel embossed with a snowflake cover die, giving the card extra texture and dimension.
The sentiment was heat-embossed, trimmed, and carefully adhered to the tag with liquid adhesive. To complete the card, I added blue striped twine and a snowflake brad at the top of the tag, finishing off the design with a festive touch.
