Pinecones and Christmas Cheer

Hi friends! Carrianne here, sharing a glimpse of the outdoors inside, complete with pinecones and Christmas cheer, featuring the Poinsettia & Pinecones Stamp Set from The Rabbit Hole Designs.

The image was stamped on a white cardstock and colored with alcohol markers. I die-cut it out with the matching dies. I die-cut another panel with a stitched frame and stamped some winter frost in gold ink. I then adhered it to a white A2 card base.

The sentiment was stamped in green ink and fussy cut it out. Next, I adhered the image and sentiment with foam tape to add additional dimension. I also added some Clear Sparkle Enamel Dots from The Rabbit Hole Designs.

Thank you for dropping in today. Have a Fantastic day!

It's Penguining To Look A Lot Like Christmas

Good morning friends! Today I'm sharing a charming Christmas card that showcases the Penguining 4x4 Stamp Set from The Rabbit Hole Designs, illustrated by Tatsiana Zayats.

I began by stamping all the images, followed by coloring them with alcohol markers and fussy cutting them out. There are, however, matching dies available.

I used a stitched square die to cut a panel of white cardstock. Next, I blended snow drifts onto the panel using blue ink. To create the igloo, a stitched circle was used, and the bottom half was cut using scissors. I used a ruler to create the ice cubes and a small hole punch to decorate it.

I adhered the igloo and two penguins directly to the panel using liquid glue, while one image was adhered with foam tape. The sentiment is from the same set and was adhered to the panel with liquid glue. Finally, I adhered the panel to a light blue card base and embellished it with snowflakes to complete the card.

Thank your stopping by. Have a fantastic day!!

Monsters, Chaos, and Mischief, Oh My!

Hi crafty friends! Today, I am sharing a spooky and fun Halloween card that features adorable costumed critters from the Spook Ya Later Alligator Stamp Set by LDRS Creative, who are seeking treats and thrills.

I began with Neenah Solar White #110 and cut it with the Slimline Scalloped Die Set from LDRS Creative. To make the moon, I used a circle die on a post-it note and stuck it to the panel. I then blended Distress Oxide inks with Squeezed Lemonade, Twisted Citron, Mowed Lawn, and Black Soot to cover the entire panel and scalloped frame. I added some texture to the panel with water and black ink. I also applied gold shimmer to the panel to add some sparkle.

The images were stamped on Neenah #80 and then colored with Copic markers. I cut them out and adhered them to the panel with foam tape for dimension.

The sentiments are from Lawn Fawn and were heat embossed with white embossing powder on black cardstock. The sentiments were adhered directly to the panel with liquid glue.

AECP Masking Unleashed

Hello, crafty friends! I am pleased to share a card for the last course, Masking Unleashed with Svitlana Shayevich, for the Altenew Educator Certification Program, Level 2.

In this course, Svitlana provides a multitude of valuable techniques and she also suggests which products are best for certain techniques.

I began by positioning the images according to how I wanted the card to look and planning which images would need to be stamped and masked first.  I stamped the moth image twice on a panel of white cardstock to create my scene, and once again on a sticky note for my mask. I carefully cut the mask by following the inside edge of its outline.

I then placed the mask on top of the moth, and then stamped the floral image from the Ambrose Rose stamp set onto the panel. I followed the above steps to create a floral mask to stamp the leaves. The floral mask was placed over the image, and the leaves were stamped, completing all the masking steps.

PRO TIP: Before you begin, you should plan the order of all the elements in your scene and then stamp and mask the images in that order.

PRO TIP: When creating a mask, you should cut around the inside edge of the outline to make it smaller than the actual stamped image.

Next, I added color to the images. The Ambrose Rose Bundle set includes matching stencils, which made it easy to color. I used two Fresh Dye Mini Ink sets, Summer Afternoon and Green Fields. I colored the moth using alcohol markers.

PRO TIP: When using layered images and masking, it is best to stamp the outline images first and then add the layers.

The sentiment is from the Remember This Stamp Set and was directly stamped onto the panel in black ink. I added black sequins to complete the card.

I hope I've inspired you to give these techniques a try!

Thank you for dropping in and have a fantastic day!

Let's Kiss Under the Moose-tletoe!

Hi there friends! Welcome back to a new Polkadoodles Craft Challenge and as always, it's Anything Goes. The design team was faced with the challenge of creating a Christmas card without using red or green, so I chose my favorite color combination, pink and blue.

Today, I created a CAS card using the Snowman-Elvis Wesley Moose digital image. After coloring the image with Copic Markers, I used a frame die to cut it out.

I printed the greeting from the Elvis Wesley Moose Themed Set onto blue cardstock. I cut it out with a sentiment strip die, then adhered it to the panel with foam tape. To complete the sentiment, I opted to cut the mistletoe from the Mistletoe Hello Set and adhered it directly to the panel with liquid glue. Blue sequins added a finishing touch to the card.

Copics used:
Moose: E43-42-41, added shading with Prismacolor pencils
Hair: E49-47-44
Antlers: E47-44
Scarf & Glove: RV29-25-23
Jacket: RV13-21-10
Snowman body: B00-000-0000, 0 colorless blender
Hat: B05-04-02-01-00-000-0000
Boots: C3-2-1
Nose: YR04-02-000
Snow: B00-000-0000
Mistletoe: YG63-61, RV25-21, Wink of Stella for sparkle

Be sure to head over to the blog to see the wonderful inspiration from the amazing design team. I can't wait to see what you create. Good luck to you all!

AECP Magical Marker Techniques

Hi friends! I am back with yet another project from the Altenew Educator Certification Program. This course was focused on encouraging creative thinking with alcohol markers, with Sara Naumann. Sara shares numerous techniques and enjoyable tips, and I would be delighted to share them with you. Let us begin.

For this card, I used the Streamlined Sprig Die Set and the Square Weave Pattern Stencil.

I started with a white cardstock panel and positioned the stencil on top. I then flipped it over and secured it with masking tape. I created a fun background using alcohol markers. I enjoyed using another medium to create a different look with a stencil.

The die outline was cut on black cardstock twice and adhered together with liquid glue for dimension. I cut the smaller die pieces on vellum and again on white cardstock. I adhered the vellum to the white cardstock and colored the vellum using a soft shade of pink. Then, I added some shading to the outline with a darker shade of pink. I reapplied the softer pink marker and began to dab the vellum with the tip to produce the mottled effect.

Now it's time to assemble everything. I cut the stenciled panel and vellum with a stitched rectangle frame. I adhered the stitched vellum to the panel with liquid glue at the corners, then adhered it to a white card base with foam tape for added dimension.

I assembled the sprig and attached it to the panel with liquid glue. I used the Versatile Greetings Die Set and cut it twice on white cardstock. I then colored it a soft shade of pink and attached it to the panel with liquid glue. I finished my card off with black gems.

Thanks for dropping in with me. Have a fantastic day!

Haunting the Holidays with Jack!

Hi friends!

I created a BOO-tiful mashup of Halloween and Christmas with Jack from The Nightmare Before Christmas movie. This is, undoubtedly, my son's absolute favorite Christmas movie. We constantly debate which holiday it represents. I believe it to be a Halloween movie, but Jack is curious about Christmas. What are your thoughts on this matter?

My card features C.C. Designs, Jack Clear Stamp Set and Simon Says Stamp, Holiday Words (retired), BOO! Wafer Die.

I began with a Neenah #80 panel and inked the stamp with Distress Oxide inks, Wilted Violet, Lucky Clover, and Orange Marmalade. I spritzed it with water, then flipped it over, placed it on the panel, and then pressed down. I then blended the same colors for a fun background.

Then, I stamped the image, colored it with Copic markers, and cut it out with my Scan N Cut machine. After die-cutting all the other elements for my card, I then assembled them together. I love how it turned out and will send this card to my son for Halloween just to make a point.

Merry Christmas

Hi, crafty friends! We are beginning to embrace the holiday season, and I am overjoyed. I love this time of year, especially the Christmas music at the mall and the decorations everywhere you turn. It is all so fun and festive.

I have created a lovely Christmas card to share with you today. My card features the Poinsettia and Pinecones Stamp Set from The Rabbit Hole Designs.

I began by stamping the image in green ink directly onto a panel of white cardstock. The image was stamped once more and colored with Copic markers. I cut the image out using the coordinating dies. Next, I divided the image into two halves from the center and adhered them to opposite corners with foam tape for added dimension.

The sentiment is from the same set and is stamped in red ink. It was fussy cut and adhered with foam tape. I also added red sequins to complete the card. I am very happy with how it turned out.

Thank you for dropping in today. Have a Fantastic day!

AECP Impressive Heat Embossing

Hi there, friends! Today, I am sharing another card towards completion of the Level 2 Altenew Educator Certification Program, Impressive Heat Embossing with Svetlana Marchenko. I would never have considered heat embossing layers before, but WOW! Impressive is right. Svetlana offers many tips during this lesson, which I will share with you.

My card features the Beautiful Day Bundle. I used two floral layers and leaves to create this card.

I prepared a white cardstock panel with an anti-static tool and began stamping the images with Versamark ink. The first layer was heat embossed with black embossing powder, the second with silver embossing powder. I cut the images out using the coordinating dies.

PRO TIP: It's very important to use your anti-static tool when heat embossing layers.

Next, I took out a panel of light gray cardstock, positioned it on my Stampwheel to secure it, applied anti-static powder, and positioned the Narrow Brick Stencil. I used Versamark ink and pressed it into the stencil to cover the areas well. After removing the stencil, I then began to heat emboss it with silver embossing powder.

I cut the panel out with a frame die twice and adhered it together with liquid glue for dimension. I then applied foam tape to the images for dimension.

The sentiment was also heat embossed with black embossing powder and cut with a sentiment strip. The sentiment was then adhered with foam tape. The card was completed with black sequins.

Thank you for dropping in with me today. Have a fantastic day!

Thanks

Hi there, friends! I hope everyone is enjoying their weekend.

We are back with a new challenge at Beautiful Blossoms Challenge and, as you know, it's Anything Floral Goes! An optional mood board is available for inspiration. I can't wait to see your creations! Happy Crafting!

Please head over to our Blog and check out the rest of the wonderful inspirational work from the Design Team!

I created this card for my uncle, who cared for my two sweet dogs while I was away for a weekend with my husband. It includes a gift card for Dunkin' Donuts. I don't trust too many people with my fur babies, but my uncle is fond of them and was pleased to do this for me.

For my card, I used the Peaceful Poppies Designer Series Paper from Stampin' Up! I trimmed it to 2 x 5 1/2, and then I cut a piece of purple cardstock 1/4 larger. I adhered it together with liquid glue. I then adhered it to an olive green A2 card base. For the sentiment, I used Versafine Onyx Black ink and added diamond gems to complete the card.

Thank you for stopping by. Have a fantastic day!!

Dashing through the Snow

Hi friends! Happy Saturday!

My card was inspired by the Caroling Christmas Cards Instagram Hop. October's playlist was Grandma Got Run Over by a Reindeer or Silver Bells.

Watch out, Grandma! It's reindeer season!! A photograph of Santa and Rudolph before the incident with Grandma. It's all fun & games until someone gets hurt!

My card features The Paper Shelter, Here We Go digital image. I printed the image onto Neenah Solar White #110 and colored it with Copic Markers. I then used my Scan N Cut to cut it out.

I used some snow patterned paper from my stash and adhered it to my white card base. I then popped the image with foam tape for dimension. The sentiment is from the Freshly Fallen stamp set of Papertrey Ink. It was stamped in red ink and cut using the La-La Lands Scalloped Sentiments Labels die. I adhered it to the panel with liquid glue. I completed the card by adding clear sequins.
