Hello Crafty Friends!
Today, I am sharing a card inspired by an Instagram hop that I participate in monthly, called the Caroling Christmas Cards Hop. We create holiday cards throughout the year, inspired by some of our favorite Christmas music. For this month, the song options were Silver and Gold or Baby, It's Cold Outside. Are you curious as to which song I selected? Please continue reading.
I chose Baby, It's Cold Outside. I created a winter-themed card using Unity Stamp Co. Chilly Chatter. Did you know, the original song was written by Frank Loesser in 1944; he sang it with his then wife, Lynn Garland. The genuine intent was to extend an invitation to individuals to depart from their party.
I began by inking a winter sky using Distress Oxide Inks Blueprint Sketch, Mermaid Lagoon, Peacock Feathers, Wilted Violet, and Black Soot. I splattered white and black ink on the blended area and then used the Pink Fresh Studio Blanket Stitched Rectangle Die Set to cut the panel.
The images were stamped, colored with Copic markers, and cut out with my Scan N Cut machine. I adhered them to the panel using foam strips to add dimension. The sentiment is from Colorado Craft Company Merry Christmoose. To complete the card, I added white and blue snowflakes.
