Today I’m sharing a card created in celebration of National Hugging Day, which is observed each year on January 21. This day is all about spreading love, comfort, and connection, and I can’t think of a better theme to inspire a handmade card—especially one featuring a sweet hug.
For my card, I used My Favorite Things Little Buddies, an adorable image of a little boy hugging his puppy. I colored the image with Copic markers and then fussy cut it out so it could stand out as the focal point of the card.
For the background, I used the Tailored Expressions Fanfare Cutting Plate on white cardstock, which adds subtle texture without overpowering the scene. Along the bottom, I added a strip of grass using the La-La Land Crafts Scene Builder Die to help ground the images.
To build the scene, I die cut a dog house from Paper Smooches using patterned paper from the La-La Land Crafts Wood Textures 1 Paper Pack. I placed another sweet puppy in front of it with a tiny bone for extra detail.

This is an adorable scene (I love the puppies)! Could you please let us know what the new item is? Thanks for joining the Die Cut Divas New Challenge.
ReplyDeleteThis is a darling card, but I don't know what you used that is new. We are happy that you shared your card with us at Die Cut Divas, but do let us know the new item so you can be entered in the drawing.
ReplyDeleteCarrianne, this is such an adorable card! I didn’t know that there was such a thing as National Hugging Day, But that is so precious. The way you colored this image is absolutely beautiful. I love how you left a lot of white in there to give dimension. You have wonderful talents. Thanks so much for sharing them with us at Word art Wednesday!
