When I saw Lili of the Valley’s James - Snow Angel, I knew I had to color this adorable bear! There’s just something magical about making snow angels — it takes me right back to my childhood. I remember doing them with my siblings, then later with my son when he was young.
For my card, I colored James Snow Angel in bright red and cheerful turquoise using Copic markers, then fussy cut him out to make him the star of the show.
To create the background, I went for a fun mixed media snowy look. I started with a bit of ink smooshing using Distress Oxide inks in Picked Raspberry and Mermaid Lagoon — I just love how the colors blend into that icy, magical winter sky! Once it dried, I added embossing paste through a snowflake stencil for some snowy texture.
Of course, I couldn’t resist a little sparkle, so I splattered metallic silver, blue, and purple inks across the panel for extra shimmer and depth.
As I was finishing up, I wanted to frame the scene somehow — and that’s when I found a negative die-cut frame in my stash that fit perfectly! I adhered it to my background and popped James up on foam tape so he looks like he’s really lying in the snow.
For the sentiment, I used Snow Cheer Sentiments Combo from Waffle Flower Crafts, stamped it in crisp black on white cardstock, and popped it up with foam tape as well.

Oh this is super cute!
