Hi friends! Today I'm sharing another clean and simple card featuring the Altenew Mega Blooms Stencil. I was inspired by Altenew's 30 Days of Crafting Challenge, Day 29, which is all about creating a Valentine's Day card for someone special, and Day 22, which focuses on including 3 layers. I’m planning to give it to my husband—it’s full of love and warmth!
I began by placing a panel of white cardstock onto my Stampwheel for easy alignment. Next, I positioned the Altenew Mega Blooms Stencil in the bottom left corner and blended the darkest three shades from the Red Sunset ink set through the stencil, creating a rich, bold color.
Afterward, I carefully rotated the panel, repositioned the stencil diagonally on the opposite side, and repeated the blending process. This allowed me to create a symmetrical design that draws the eye across the entire card.
After blending the design, I used a stitched rectangle die to cut out the panel, allowing part of the design to hang off the edges for added interest. Next, I used a larger stitched rectangle die to cut a panel from black cardstock, and then took the leftover piece from the original panel to create a layered effect. This not only added dimension but also made the colorful design stand out against the darker background. To finish the look, I added black splatter to bring in some contrast and give the card a playful, artistic flair.
For the assembly, I flipped the outer frame to align with the opposite floral image for an off balanced design. Then, I adhered the frame to an A2 card base with liquid adhesive. Next, I stacked a piece of cardstock behind the black panel to add dimension and make it sturdier. I repeated this process with the focal panel, layering it for extra depth. Once everything was aligned, I adhered the layered pieces to the panel with liquid adhesive, giving the design a bit of extra lift.
For the sentiment, I used the Versatile Greetings die set and cut it from black metallic cardstock, then cut two additional layers for added depth. I stacked the layers with liquid adhesive and secured the sentiment to the panel.
Thank you for stopping by! Have a wonderful and creative day!
