With a Twist - AECP Level 2

Hello Friends! I am pleased to say that I have completed another Altenew Educator Certification course, With a Twist, taught by Therese Calvird. I truly appreciated Therese's fun personality and her ideas as far as twisting things up.

I combined what I learned in Lesson One, Using Stamps with a Twist, and Lesson Two, Make It Unexpected. Let's discuss the details, shall we?

Before I started working on my card, I took out an assortment of colored cardstock and did an ink test to see what the result would be, as suggested by Therese. I opted for the darkest red available to achieve bold outcomes, which pushed me beyond my comfort zone.

For my card, I used the Altenew Dainty Sprig stamp set. I began stamping the outline image over an A-2-sized rose-red panel with Versamark ink. It was heat embossed with gold embossing powder. Next, I chose bold colors, as Therese suggested, and colored the floral images with the layering images using Altenew Fresh Dye ink, Velvet. For the leaves, I used Copic markers in shades of gray, as there are no layering stamps for this image.

The sentiment is from Altenew Timeless Sentiments. I die-cut it on gold cardstock and cut the shadow on vellum. I attached it to the panel with foam strips and added black sequins to complete the card.

In all honesty, there were some moments where I considered tossing this card and starting over but I am glad that I continued on because I really love the final result.

My Pro Tip:
Regardless of your personal feelings towards your project, please do not judge your card until it has been completed. Keep at it; the result might be better than you thought.

Take Time To Do What Makes You Happy

Good morning Crafty Friends. I hope you are having a good week!

Today, I am sharing a card that I have created, which I would describe as an escape from reality for my family. My husband and I are avid campers, or perhaps more accurately, glampers. We own a fifth wheel and do our best to get away as often as possible. We are all set for a week-long getaway with our sweet pups in September.

My card features a discontinued set from Stampin' Up! Mountain Air. The image was stamped onto a 3 x 3 panel. I added some blue skies to the mountains with Copic markers. I placed a stitched scalloped die onto an A-2-size panel, placed it in the center, and ran it through my die-cutting machine. I then attached the panels with glue.

The trees were stamped, die-cut using the corresponding dies, and then adhered to the panel, one with glue and the other with foam. The camping chair is from the Papertrey Ink, Life's Great Adventures Stamp Set. After fussy cutting it out (although it does have matching dies), I positioned it on foam strips to add dimension. The sentiment is from Penny Black, Enjoy Builder Set which was also popped up on foam strips. I added a few soft green sequins to complete the card.

Sending Love

Hello Crafty Friends!

I am excited to be a Crazy Cousin Guest Designer again for the Double Trouble Challenge #169.

To participate in this challenge, you must adhere to the instructions provided by Things 1, 2 and 3. Thing 1 requests that you make a slimline card. This is the only requirement necessary to enter the challenge. The decision of Thing 3 is to include flowers. Thing 2 invites you to enter your project if you have met Thing 1 and Thing 3 requests.

For my card, I used Pixi Dust Designs Tulip Dies. This set was easy to put together.

I cut my tulips from purple cardstock and the leaves from green cardstock. For added texture, I dry embossed a white panel with Stampin' Up! Wrapped in Texture embossed folder (retired). The sentiment is from the same set. I also added purple sequins to complete the card.

In The Mood For Color - AECP Level 2

Hello Crafty Friends!

This is my third course within the Level 2 of the Altenew Educator Certification Program.

The course 'In the Mood for Color' with Stephanie Klauck was extremely informative regarding the significance of colors and how they affect us when we create. I was able to make a card based on my mood and techniques that I took from the lessons in this course.

My inspiration for this card came from my favorite color, which is orange. I learned that orange symbolizes health, happiness, and courage.

I used Altenew's Beautiful Day, but only the solid leaf image. On a white A2-size panel, I started first and second-generation stamping with orange ink all over until the entire panel was covered.

As Stephanie suggested, I added some orange glitter cardstock to help the images stand out and give them that 'wow' factor. Another technique recommended was to trace the outline using a black pen. However, I opted to add some detail to the leaf images, and I am pleased with the result.

The sentiment is from the Altenew Smile More Stamp Set. I was looking for a sentiment that would express my feelings, and I think this one was perfect for that. To complete the card, orange sequins were added.

Feel Better Soon

Hello, crafty friends! I hope you are enjoying your day!

Today, I am sharing a card that I created using The Rabbit Hole Designs Mindful Magnolia set.

I began by die-cutting a white panel using The Rabbit Hole Designs You've Been Framed Layering Dies. It was adhered to a red mat layer and then a white A2 card base.

I then stamped the smallest floral image from the set several times in black ink and colored it with Copic markers. I fussy cut them out, but a matching die set is available here. I popped them up on foam dots for dimension.

The sentiment is from the same set Sentimentally and was heat embossed, then popped up on foam strips. I added some dark splatter to complete the card.

Thank you for visiting. Happy crafting!

Woof

Good morning Crafty Friends.

Today, I am pleased to share a card featuring the Pixi Dust Designs Woof Stamp. This set contains four sweet dog images, a few add-on images, and some fun sentiments, all of which are included in this set to create the most adorable cards for all dog lovers.

I began with a white panel and began stamping the bone with black ink and the paw prints, alternating blue and red inks to create a fun background. I then used a stitched frame die to cut my panel and then adhered it to a blue mat, which was then adhered to a white card base.

The main image was stamped, colored with Copic markers, and fussy cut out. The sentiment is from the same set and was stamped directly onto the bone. I used the Pixi Dust Pup Shaker Die to cut the paw outline with a piece of paper from the Pixi Dust Puppy Love Paper Pad. I adhered the image to it using foam strips to enhance its dimension.
